Wayne S. Maynard, CSP, CPE, ALCM is currently Product Director-Workers Compensation specializing in ergonomics and prevention of slips, trips and falls (Tribology) including stairway design and walkway safety. He is a member of the Risk Control Technical Services organization. Wayne has over 40 years’ experience with Liberty Mutual and for the last 23 years worked closely with the former Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety on development of evidence based products and tools that support the Risk Control Services organization and their customer service needs. He also collaborates internally with Liberty Mutual business units on target industry strategies and new innovations such as wearable technology and safety. He is a technical adviser to Liberty Mutual's corporate safety and ergonomics program. Wayne received a BA degree in Zoology from the University of Maine, Orono, ME and holds the Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) and Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM) designations. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles and presented many times at industry and safety conferences on slip, trip and fall prevention and ergonomics. He holds leadership responsibilities on several ANSI and ASTM technical committees on ergonomics, pedestrian walkway safety and footwear including Vice Chair of ASTM’s F13.50 subcommittee on Walkway Surfaces. He was most recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the newly formed Applied Ergonomics Society sponsored by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.
