This session will look at how simulation and virtual reality are enhancing workforce development and high-stakes practical assessments. We’ll describe the evolution of skilled trades training and practical assessments, from on-the-job learning to structured training and assessment plans. We’ll also examine the growing reliance on standards in the development and delivery of training and certification, and share simulation and VR training and assessments in use today. Learn how organizations such as Bechtel, DPR Construction and the National Safety Council are using programs that task students with practical scenarios they’re apt to encounter on actual construction sites.
